School Council

At Featherbank, our School Council is the really important link between what is important for the children and what is important for the staff.  It allows us to give news, raise issues that we are concerned out and share information and ideas that we feel would help make our school a better place.

The Councillors had to put themselves forwards and give a speech about why they felt that they were suitable for the jobs.  The classes then voted and they were elected; all of which we do to highlight our British Value of DEMOCRACY.

We meet every two weeks and then update our classes with Class Council meetings afterwards.  Then we can begin to act on what we've discussed.  We will post the minutes of our meetings here.

OUR CHARITY THIS YEAR:

The School Council have consulted the classes across Featherbank and we have decided that this year, we will be supporting the RSPCA: Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

LOOKING BACK OVER OUR FIRST HALF-TERM

Wow!  What an amazing start! The School Council has been involved in so much so far this Term, from choosing our charity to helping to set policies; improving our school; asking for new lessons, new equipment and new activities - it has been a really rewarding time!

In our second Half Term, we hope to extend the School Council's activities even further, developing links across our community and school cluster, making connections with our local environment and helping promote the profile of the school so that everyone can see what a caring, supporting and inspiring place Featherbank is!
