THIRST FOR SURVIVAL
From the dawn of time we came; moving slowly down through the ages, living many secret lives, struggling to reach the time of awakening; beyond the Great Winter; when the few who remain will journey to the light. Through fire, through darkness, beyond the claws of beasts, the wounds of time and the melt of the ice. We are the STONE AGE PEOPLE!
We're going PRE-HISTORIC this Term. From the Stone Age through to the Iron Age, we examine the beginnings of the human race and its development through the millennia. Moving from caves to huts to villages, travelling down from the edge of the glacier-gripped mountain-tops to the warm, sun-lapped waters of the sea.
We will be creating and following our village of survivors on their endeavours and adventures. We will learn about homes and hunting, pre-historic beasts and deadly dangers. We will discover how they created houses, fished, ate, developed tools and told their stories through cave paintings.
If all goes well, we hope to take a trip to SKELTON GRANGE for a STONE-AGE DAY of discovery and adventure!
Come and see, draw a little closer to the fire and let us tell you a tale of wonder at the edge of the darkness...
