Happy New Year!

Welcome back, I hope you have all had an enjoyable break and a very happy new year to all.

This term in Year 6, our main focus will be on World War 2.

This half term will include reading 'Goodnight Mr. Tom' as well as finding about how the war started, evacuation and rationing.

Once again,a big thank you to all parents and carers who have helped and supported with homework over the last term.

As we are now on the road towards SATS in may, homework will continue to be set weekly and will involve testing both new learning and previous learning from all year groups.

Please will you continue to make sure that your child's homework is completed and returned to school by THURSDAY each week. If you have any worries or issues, please arrange to see me or Miss Scudder and we will be happy to help you.

Christmas in Year 6!

Year 6 have been working hard all the way to the end of the term but they are now getting into the festive mood.

A big congratulations to all for a truly fantastic concert performance last week.

This week, we have spent the afternoon reading Christmas stories to the children in Reception. The younger children really enjoyed listening to the stories and Year 6 loved spending time with their buddies from Reception!

Computing with Scratch

Year 6 have been working on their own space computer games this half term using the program Scratch. They have all created some fabulous games, overcoming many problems along the way. They have used their de-bugging skills to work out all the problems in their code and the results are truly out of this world! Here are some of the games they have created.

Welcome back!

I hope you have all had a restful half term break and are raring to go for the long run-up to Christmas.

We are continuing this half term with our Space topic and focusing on the planets and the stars.

Thank you very much for all the wonderful homework completed last half term. We will continue to accept pieces of homework from this topic sheet, so please bring them in as there are still team points on offer!

A small selection of the homework received so far can be seen below.
